Community Fundraising

Community Fundraising

Community Fundraising is when individuals, groups, or local organisations come together to raise money for a cause they care about.

It brings people together to make a difference through events like fun runs, bake sales, raffles, or challenges. Supporting Barnsley Hospital Charity through community fundraising helps fund vital equipment, patient care, and services beyond NHS funding. You can get involved by organising your own event, joining one of ours, or donating to a fundraiser. Every effort, big or small, helps make a real impact for patients, families, and staff. Together, we can make hospital care even better.

Sassie – Shafton WMC

Donna, Jane and Michelle have raised almost £20,000 since they started fundraising in their local community.

he terrific trio are celebrating a milestone achievement and have raised funds for Barnsley Hospital Charity’s Neonatal Unit and Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Two of the trio have children who benefited from the special care facilities when they were born and this spurred on their reasons for giving back.

Each year the group who are named Sassie and who are supported by Shafton WMC organise children’s discos and family fun days to raise the vital funds to support babies and their parents with neonatal care.
