Fundraising Volunteers
When?
Will vary on hour much time you have on your hands to fundraise at our events. This is a flexible role well-suited to volunteers who cannot commit to regular hours.
Where?
Various events within the Hospital such as Bake Sales and Tombola stalls and fundraising/bucket collection within the Barnsley area.
How?
The charity ensures there are a calendar of events every month for our volunteers to get involved with. This includes a variety of charity run fundraising stalls and events. For example, we attend local supermarkets to hold charity collections as well as holding regular tombolas and raffles in and around the hospital.
Who?
This role would be perfect for someone who is happy to socialise and chat to our wonderful charity supporters. You will enjoy meeting people and will have a friendly, polite approach at the sites you visit.
Coin Collection Volunteer
When?
From a few hours per month to a few hours a week dependent on the number of collection tubs you look after. This is a flexible role well-suited to volunteers who cannot commit to regular hours.
Where?
In and around the Barnsley Area
How?
As part of our fundraising we place coin collecting tubs in local businesses and community groups. You will place new tubs, look after existing tubs and be responsible for ensuring the sealed collection tubs are taken to the Hospital cashier for counting.
The placing of tubs can be at a time to suit you and you can be responsible for as many as you choose to manage.
You will need to report back to the charity Fundraising Team at regular intervals to help us keep accurate records of our collection tubs.
Who?
This role involves being organised, self-motivated and requires good interpersonal skills. You will find venues that are willing to take a tub, creating and sustaining income for the charity.
You will enjoy meeting people and will have a friendly, polite approach at the sites you visit. You will be comfortable with transporting the money collected back to the cashiers office. You need to be able to travel around the area either on foot, by bus or by car.
As a volunteer you will such we expect you to be well-presented, polite and to give a positive message about the work of the charity.

When?
Ad hoc to support our charity run events, usually weekends
Where?
Events in and around the Barnsley Area
How?
As part of raising vital funds and awareness of what the charity does to support the hospital patients, their families and our staff we hold a number of fundraising events. In order to run these large events we need volunteers that we can call on to help in a number of ways.
This could be as a marshall for a run or walk, helping run a stall/registration desk, handing out goodies, collecting with a bucket, bag packing at a supermarket or even getting dressed to add the element of fun to the event! This list is not exhaustive!
Who?
This role requires good interpersonal skills and being punctual and reliable. You will need to work as part of a team, take instructions from the charity coordinator and be flexible to support the event in the best possible way.
You will enjoy meeting people and will have a friendly, polite approach at the events you attend.
You need to be able to travel to the events either on foot, by bus or by car.
As a volunteer you will such we expect you to be well-presented, polite and to give a positive message about the work of the charity.
